I have loved them from afar for a very long time.
Kudos on snagging one!ReaderRitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12576827544980249236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-59034912547370887.post-7677795599165115022011-05-15T07:58:13.672+10:002011-05-15T07:58:13.672+10:00The steamer is a completely wondrous item. You can...The steamer is a completely wondrous item. You can steam the wrinkles out of curtains while they are hanging! Out of jackets with no press cloth! Out of pleaty things with no strife! Oh, I love the thing- Though I will state for posterity, that steam is hot!
You may might find that you have mentally mislaid that fact until such a crisis as the singeing of your digits- a thumb which has lingered too long under a fold, or pinky which refused to get out of the steam path quickly enough- so one must be somewhat alert.
No more so than when ironing, but the steam just seems so innocent, you forget...
(I mean, even the word inspires less fear- it's not the gristly hot steel of an "IRON"- it is lovely, floaty, soft "steam"- all cloud-like and angelic; well, until it burns a big blister onto your finger. So respect is certainly called for.)
And I remember Wild Kingdom! Here in the US, it was presented as "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" and was also part of the Sunday night television landscape. So was Walt Disney's "The Wonderful World of Disney"- I venture that these days, the latter show might present more horror- "Watch as Jim wrestles this hungry pre-teen star..." I cringe at the thought. It probably wasn't Matt Monro, an ex-London bus driver who had hits at the same time? His big one was 'Born Free' from the movie of the same name.
Re DVF wrap dress. I haven't put it on the blog as I haven't actually worn it yet. I think that's going to be on Monday.
Have a great weekend. This reminds me that I stumbled on one at a garage sale and haven't opened the box since then. I wonder? Does it actually work? I must try it and see. I have plenty of wrinkles around here to experiment on.

As usual, a very entertaining post here. I wish I could watch that British home show. And yes, I remember Al Martino. I had several LPs of his at the same time I listened to Dean Martin and someone else whose name escapes me right now. (Guess that means it's MY problem - not YOURS afterall.)Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08740950362293427086noreply@blogger.com
